The 2019 Mitre 10 Heartland Championship draw has been announced today by New Zealand Rugby.<\/span><\/p>\n

The season will kick off at home to East Coast on the 24th August, with eight weeks of round robin before semi-finals and Finals.<\/span><\/p>\n

The local derby vs West Coast is on the 5th October at John Sturgeon Park with a 2.30pm kick-off<\/span><\/p>\n

New Zealand Rugby\u2019s Chief Rugby Officer Nigel Cass said the long-standing rivalries that exist in domestic competitions create a special excitement in the rugby community and the announcement of these draws begin the countdown to August.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2018 we had it all, the Ranfurly Shield moved around the country, Thames Valley had a phenomenal run to the Meads Cup title and a dramatic Mitre 10 Cup Final in Auckland will go down as one of the greats.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEvery year, across both competitions, we see hardened veterans play alongside and against emerging stars and that is just a small part of what makes these competitions a much-loved piece of the rugby calendar,\u201d said Cass.<\/span><\/p>\n
